Abdominal surgery
Our surgeons provide treatment for a wide variety of abdominal conditions, and perform procedures on most organs and structures within the abdominal cavity. Laparoscopic surgery is used when appropriate.
Digestive system
Committed to the safest, least invasive approach appropriate, our surgeons treat conditions of the digestive tract including esophagus, stomach, duodenum, small intestine, colon, rectum, and anus. They also treat surgical disorders of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, and biliary system.
- EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy): The endoscope is used to inspect the internal anatomy of the digestive tract. If a biopsy is required, it can be done during this diagnostic procedure.
- Colonoscopy: A screening test that allows your doctor to look at the inner lining of your large intestine (rectum and colon). He or she uses a thin, flexible tube called a colonoscope to look at the colon. A colonoscopy helps find ulcers, polyps and tumors, and areas of inflammation or bleeding.
Surgical care of cancer
Depending on the cell type of the cancer and the organ or structure involved, the surgeon's role in cancer care can vary greatly. The physicians and staff believe in a team approach to the diagnosis, treatment, and follow up of patients and families affected by cancer.
